What would I say is the single best cancer fighting food to eat? Well, I’ve gotta be honest. After 13+ years of living beyond a cancer diagnosis, I’ve actually been asked that exact question: Nita, which would you single out as the absolute best among the many cancer fighting foods? Sheesh…to choose only one? Oh wow…truth is, I can’t do it. Why not? Well, when it comes to foods that are good for fighting cancer, my own personal list has a pretty huge arsenal of the best foods to eat, namely fruits and veggies, herbs and spices. And these babies don’t play around. Which makes it nearly impossible for me to narrow it down to the one and only best cancer fighting food!
So here we go—a list of some of the questions I’m asked most about the best foods to help fight cancer:
-
Nita, please tell me, which fruits are on your best cancer fighting food list?
-
When it comes to overall foods that are good for fighting cancer, what seemed to work best for you?
-
Which exact vegetables do you include in your own daily best cancer fighting foods selection?
-
Where can I get a copy of your own free cancer fighting foods list?

I was recently diagnosed with cancer & I’m wondering about the best foods to eat if you have cancer. Nita, what did you do right after you were first diagnosed? Which foods did you start out with?
1.) Nita, please tell me, which fruits are on your best cancer fighting food list?
I’m super glad you asked that! Berries are filled with loads of cancer-fighting nutrients, and these include strawberries, blueberries and raspberries! Which I’d say, in my own humble opinion, are truly some of the best foods to eat if you have cancer. They were for me, anyway!
Strawberries rock as an anti-cancer warrior—how? Well for one, they’re loaded with these amazing, oxidative stress-reducing antioxidants. Drumroll—they’re called anthocyanins! And those babies are able to block cancer cells from forming—cool stuff, right?
Another thing I learned: strawberries actually ease down inflammation. Which is a MEGA thumbs-up, since chronic “won’t let up” inflammation is exactly what triggers diseases including yes—cancer. And if you have cancer, it’s a treasure to know what’s best for your daily eating.
Our food can be our army!
As for beautiful blueberries, they’re rich in what’s called gallic acid—hooray! Why? Because studies show that theee best foods loaded with gallic acid can destroy cancer cells (yess) and can do it without hurting your healthy cells. Powerful stuff!
Now let’s get to raspberries: according to an online post/article by Dr. David Jockers, raspberry can nicely boost your quercetin—what’s that? Quercetin is a flavonoid-rich powerhouse antioxidant (free radical destroyer) that reduces inflammation (yessss!!)
Plus, raspberries are even loaded with anthocyanins. So? Well, they’re awesome to eat since these babies set off apoptosis in cancer cells—beautiful natural cell death. It sparks cancer cells to do what they’re supposed to do—die off naturally!

2.) When it comes to overall foods that are good for fighting cancer, what seemed to work best for you?
When it comes to foods that are good for fighting cancer, it’s a bit hard to name one food as my favorite. For me though, I’d say that tumeric is one of my DEFINITE daily go-to comforts when it came to fighting cancer–for ME, that is. Why is that?
Tumeric fights inflammation in my own system and that is HUGE to say the least. When we’re dealing with chronic inflammation, this can indeed trigger so many diseases including yes, cancer.
For me, because of this, I’ve always been quick to say that for my own system, tumeric has been one of the strongest cancer-fighting foods. Whether in a capsule, powder form, in a tea, or having some of the freshly ground golden root thrown into one of my juices, I really do love it!
It’s one of my favorite cancer super foods, definitely!
Interesting…since tumeric helps to cleanse our liver, that critical organ we need when healing from cancer. Why? Our liver detoxes our body, and we need our systems regularly filtered. Another thing about this priceless golden food is it’s ability to help shrink tumors and reduce the growth of cancer cells.
Guess what? I also discovered that tumeric’s active ingredient is curcumin, and this baby is POWERFUL in an anti-cancer diet–how? Studies have shown that it’s able to reduce tumor sizes and fight against certain cancer cell signaling pathways–whoa! Oh and tumeric should absolutely be combined with black pepper, since that totally maximizes the full-scale absorption.
3.) Which exact vegetables do you include in your own daily best cancer fighting foods selection?
Interesting…on my free cancer-fighting foods list, I included the superfood jewel avocado.
I love calling avocados jewels since they’re rich, creamy, and loaded with cancer-fighting phytochemicals and monounsaturated healthy fats. They are such an incredible superfood!
Amazing avocados are also packed with vitamins, minerals and fiber, all needed when working to heal your body from cancer and chronic diseases.
I love avocado as a cancer fighter—why? Get this: these gems are loaded with monounsaturated fatty acids—and? It lowers inflammation! Which rocks since lowering inflammation makes avocados highly protective against chronic diseases including cancer!
Research: whoa–avocado’s powerful! A nurses health study showed that women who had the most vitamin E (that major antioxidant in avocado) saw a 43% reduction in breast cancer. Thank you avocado!
4.) Where can I get a copy of your own free cancer fighting foods list?
One of the hands-down, BIGGEST lessons I learned after being diagnosed with cancer in 2011 is that YES, what we eat matters SO MUCH! Which why I created this FREE list that shows 7 of my own top cancer-fighting foods.
And again, it’s FREE–you get QUICK access, meaning don’t need to leave your email. Just click here and that’s it, it’s all yours. Feel free to check this list out, and let me know what ya think in the comments below.

5.) I was recently diagnosed with cancer & I’m wondering about the best foods to eat if you have cancer. Nita, what did you do right after you were first diagnosed? Which foods did you start out with?
I’ll start by saying I can’t say enough about garlic.
And yes, it’s safe to say that garlic’s one of the very first foods I thought of including in my anti-cancer diet.
I love garlic in my salad dressings–by the way, my Uncle Carl, God rest his soul, had the greatest recipe for the most lip-smacking, can’t-help-licking-your-plate green goddess dressing! Wow it was so yummy–plus since it was a raw homeade dressing, those nutrients from powerful garlic can go straight to your system!
I use garlic to flavor any salmon and chicken, and I’ve even added it to some of my cancer-fighting juices. So what’s so potent about garlic?
Garlic is one major powerhouse when it comes to fighting cancer. How? For one, it’s filled with allicin–and that bad boy is a sulfur compound that reduces inflammation and stimulates detox pathways–whoohoo!
What’s the National Cancer Institute’s verdict on garlic? Here it is: “several population studies show an association between increased intake of garlic and reduced risk of certain cancers, including cancers of the stomach, colon, esophagus, pancreas and breast.”
I’d mentioned a cancer-fighting juice I create that includes the following:
- 32oz freshly made carrot juice
- one freshly squeezed lemon
- about 2 cloves of garlic
I pour all of these into a blender along with a tablespoon of fresh organic olive oil. It blends into this ultra-delicious, so tasty and nutritious drink.
Garlic is also powerful for targeting bacteria, parasites, fungi and viruses, which is super-critical when we’re fighting cancer.
