Healing Your Body With Nutrition–Including Raspberries
“Raspberries? But that’s just some fruit. So with a cancer diagnosis, could adding raspberries to my diet help out?” That’s a question I’ve asked myself, and others have asked me more than once. The answer?
Well for me, for my own anti-cancer eating, I figured, why not! And here’s why I eat these gems:
1.) Check this out: raspberries are loaded with wonderfully powerful anthocyanins. What are anthocyanins? They’re basically blue, red or violet flavonoid pigments found in plants—and yep, they give raspberries that vibrant color!
2.) Ok yeah, color is cool—but what’s even more important, anthocyanins work as mega-powerful antioxidants. And these babies reduce inflammation & oxidative stress—that wear and tear that leads us to chronic conditions. Degenerative conditions which unfortunately, does include cancer.

3.) Here’s the “oh-no” problem with cancer cells—I learned that they’re not like our healthy cells that die naturally—as healthy cells should. Cancer cells are abnormal. They’re those defective cells that just keep going and multiplying—they don’t know when to quit!
4.) And so the awesome anthocyanins-loaded raspberries step up to the plate—and work to trigger apoptosis in cancer cells, a.k.a. that programmed “natural cell death.” Natural cell death of cancer cells? Sounds terrific to me–raspberry smoothie here I come!

5.) So since they’re packed with these super-awesome anthocyanins, I figured, hey, raspberries can help put me on that road to keeping cancer under control—sweet! And they can even help prevent cancer cells from doing that dreaded metastasis, the notorious spreading of cancer cells throughout your system.
A pinch of advice though: proceed cautiously. Meaning don’t finish reading this and then go downing bowl after bowl of raspberries—with a cancer-fighting diet, you definitely wanna watch your natural sugar intake.
Ohhh hold it: here’s an IMPORTANT P.S. About Raspberries, do NOT forget this one:
Me? I always get my raspberries ORGANIC, to me, that is DEEPLY important! Otherwise they’ll be filled with loads and loads of toxic pesticides and you definitely don’t want that stuff running throughout your system.
How have you enjoyed raspberries?
